Can you fit a 1.1's shocks springs on a Gti?

Found some shocks and lowering springs for a 1.1, would they work the same on a gti but just sit abit lower? or would the whole setup just act up because its not weighted right?

I'm no expert but, I would think a GTI would have upgraded shocks and springs to give better feedback ?
So why would you want to ?

They are upgraded and stiffer.. as they lower a 1.1 by 60mm, so was just wondering if they'd do the job on a 1.8gti. I dont mind it sitting abit lower because of the extra weight a gti carry's but wasnt sure if it would affect handling etc.

GTI,s dont really carry much extra weight at the rear, so if in good condition sure theyll be fine.

I wouldnt its about just how it sits it would also make it handle wrong. The amount of brokjen springs on cars nowadays i'd always fit the correct part.

I'm sure it would be fine mate,GTI's are lower than other models but arn't much heavier. You can't more than try them out.
Personally I like them as VW intended them to be after all they are the ones that spent all the time on the drawing board.
Thats just my own opinion and we all have our own tastes :D
