PLEASE HELP

Okay so i have a set of banded beetle steels that i want to fit to my golf, i want the beetle steels because you can fit the bigger domed hub caps to them. now beetle steels are 4x130 and obviously a golf is 4x100. Now beetle drums are 4x130, so does anyone know if you can fit beetle drums to the rear of my golf? and could i get beetle disks or any other disk with a 4x130 fitment on my golf? I dont want to use adaptors because they are pricey as hell and i can afford to be putting another 1.3" of metal behind banded steels

I wouldn't have thought beetle drums would fit.
You could get a set of golf drums re drilled at a decent machine shop.
Your problem will be with the front discs, or rather hubs, as it is these that are drilled out for wheel bolts.
Adapters would be the safest method if available, I have 20mm hubcentric dapters on the rear of mine, which are bolted up solid to the drums, been fine for the last 2 years

Projekt Frustration :

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!

Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

If your going to a machine shop, or going to buy spacers, forget that, just get the beetle steels plugged and re drilled?

Proving centre bore is same, if not it would be ideal to make that the same too so your safe.

I would like to see these steelies :)
I would get the hubs redrilled.

Thanks for the replies, I think re- drilling the wheels is going to be the best option, what a nightmare this is! Adaptors are so expensive! 150+ for a pair!

what price do you put on doing the job the right way?

If you look at your wheels, you will see that the area below the bolt holes is shaped during the pressing process to seat the bolts, it aint just a hole dude.

Also, have you enough clearance for brakes and suspension, if not you may need spacers anyhow!

What is the centre bore on the beetle wheels? Golf is around 57mm, this needs to be the same on the bug wheels.

Ignore him ^^^

Job done right, each time you want to fit new brakes you need them doing each and every time!

Go to a machinist and explain your requirements, they will fill the whole centre, get the surface flat and true then redrill to 4x100 with a 57.1 centre bore. Job done.

depends on your view point…

just saying, may still have issues with offset once drilled, so spacers might not work out that expensive!

Up to you guys.

Maybe you could recomend somewhere to do the work?

Still gunna have that issue with drilled discs and drums.

I'd personally take them to g23 engineering as I've seen there work and it compares to no other. And you'll have the job done right in the first place by somebody that knows the Vw scene.

You could try getting some wheels that fit…………….

Its easier (and safer) to fit bling hubcaps to a wheel rather than fit a car to the wheels.
