Caliper Sticking????
My car seems to be all going wrong at the moment.
I now have a noise coming from my passenger front wheel.
It happens when I driving straight or turning.
Seems to be matched to the spinning of the wheel.
Sound like a grinding or scaping rather than a knock.
I think it could be one of three fromstudying past forum topics.
Caliper sticking or Wheel bearing or Cv joint
Please Help.
Ive jacked her up and checked both wheels for play. the passenger side does rock only ever so slightly and the driver side is solid. this is with one hand on the top and the other on the bottom of the wheel to show direction of movemet.
Ive also looked in at the cv joint by removing the rubber boot. truth is i don't really know what im looking for. all bearing were there…. and ive removed the brake disc and grinded the corrosion from the edge in case this was rubbing on the pads.
also its got all new suspension and top mounts. 4 x new matching yoko tyres. and the wheel nuts are tight for sure.
It stills makes the dreaded noise.
please help me out I want to keep my car in good shape.

the pads have approx 8-10mm on them still and its pretty equal to the front on back pads of the caliper.
also ive had the wheel spinning while the car is up and the noise can not be recreated….
if it helps it used to only make the noise when parking or turning around when the wheels were turned to the right. this would make me beleve its the cv joint but most say it sounds like a klip klop kind of sound rather than a grinding….

thanks for replies in trying to help me out guys but ive sorted it now. I just bought a new bearing and hub flange with the idea that new ones will be better than old if there not the issue. But changed them and the car drives nice. And no noise. Only cost me 30 per side from gsf and only took an hour each to fit really. Thanks again for everyones input it really helps when others take the time to help. Cheers
