Anyone?
I ordered some bump stops from German and swedish and cut them down by 20mm as the lowering kit said (GMAX VW07 kit) drop quoted from manufacturer as 20~25mm from GTI ride height (current ride height should be 320mm).
But…….the front is a full finger width higher than the back!! I cut the original rear bump stops down by 20mm and used them instead of the ones from German and swedish as they looked more suited to a tractor.
However I had to use the fron ones from German and swedish as I had no others, I cut them down by 20mm. But it is possible that they are still to big, could this be the only reason it looks like I am driving round with my handbrake on?
So does anyone out there know the length of a mk1 front bump stop?

Hi - it's not going to be your bump stops that's affecting the ride height, it's the springs. 'Front-up' is pretty common on Mk1 kits it seems. If the kit drops the car 20mm, try 30mm lower springs at the front. The reason the kit tells you to trim the bump stops is so that the car retains most of it's suspension travel without 'bottoming out'
Good luck,
Mark
