Brakes (master cylinder move)

Straight in with apologies, there are many threads on brakes here, to no real surprise. This one I have tried to make a bit more specific. Secondly as great as I think the Mk1 is, I actually drive a Mk2 Scirocco, sorry.
I have read most of the threads on brakes here, I'm not interested in bigger disc's or braided lines, already done that. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with Mk1 brakes as long as everything is in good working order, but I think they could be so much better without the cross link.
Would love to here from the people who have either moved the master cylinder to the drivers side of the car or installed a pedal box.
Many thanks in advance.

You can move the master cylinder but you lose the vacuum servo which you do need!!!  There just isn't the room for it on the drivers side.

Twin resevoir pedalbox will help as will a pressure regulator, but it's not the easiest job around, and in some cases can make it worse.

The best way is the mk2 16v m/c and servo and a well adjusted linkage.
