Brake Rattle

My 1982 MK1 Golf 1.5 Auto Cabriolet has a rattle that goes as soon as I touch the brake pedal.
The brake pad anti rattle clips are missing so I'm guessing thats the cause, does anyone know where I can get some from?
Or will I have to try my dreaded main dealer?

It's certainly very likely to be the lack of anti-rattle springs that's causing the rattling - especially as they're all missing! Just check the calipers are bolted on tight too, you never know. If it's the brakes with allen head bolts they can sometimes work loose and the hole caliper is left moving around.

Which type of brakes do you have? If they're Girling, I have a brand new set of anti-rattle springs on offer, which I no longer need as I changed the calipers. If it's ATE/Teves, I just got some from my local Motosave store. They'll be copies/pattern parts but should do the job ok.

I may be able to help with some part numbers once I know which brakes you have. May help with finding some on Ebay for example.
