Brake pressure valves and brake compensator

On my two rear brake lines, I have a brake pressue valve on each line. I also have the brake pressure regulator at the rear of the car. Is there a need for the front two if I have the rear one fitted?

Does the rear one only work when there is extra weight in the rear of the car? Or is it always regulating the rear brake pressure? but it cuts off the pressure more when extra weight is in the rear and the car is under hard breaking?

I think myself, the rear regulator is always regulating the pressure to the rear and cuts off the pressure when there is more weight in the back so the other two valves are probably not needed??

anyone any insight?!

billy hi

The 2 front ones are check valves , used to keep residual pressure to the rear brake cylinders .  You need these unless you decide to change to disks at the rear .

You are correct ! It prevents the car skidding during hard braking .

By check valves, do you mean non return valves?

Yes mate sort of , they still allow fluid both ways but are designed to keep some pressure to the rear .
