Brake pressure regulator Help!

I have just come back in from the garage after trying to bleed the brakes.All started to go well until i noticed brake fluid seeping out from around the brake pressure regulator(around the rubber seal)
After reading the Haynes book of lies it says that i should of had the lever towards the axle? I didnt,so does this mean i need a new one? :dontknow:
This will teach me to read the instructions first!

wouldn't have made a difference if you opened the valve or not, it wouldnt have caused the problem. you just have a dead valve!  either find a new mk1 item or make a bracket so a mk2 one fits. up to you
