Brake Master Cyclender upgrade for 1.8 GTI Cabrio (E reg)

Hi all,

just wondering if there is a common or recommended Brake Master cyclender upgrade for the 1.8 GTI Cabrio?

the brakes on the Girlfriends are awful,  we had to take the compensators out to make the rear brakes work but can't get new ones, so have none at the moment.  there is no real assisted braking so assume that the master cyclender is knackered, old or both.  all the brake lines are new, all the disks, pads and fuid are new.

so is there a master cylender from a new VW that is a common upgrade for these?

any help / advice appreciated.   (now it runs, we want it to stop  )
