Brake Bleeding problems

Hi all,

I am having problems bleeding the brakes. There is not enough pressure and only some drips are coming out of the bleed valve.

Do you think its because of trapped air/dirt in front pipes? I have just put new brake hoses and brake pipes at the rear.

Car had been left and garaged for a long time.

Master cylinder issue? Would i need to replace that?

cheers

Yannick

Front or rears? How are you bleeding them?

rear

its the rear, im pumping the brake pedals while my dad is adjusting the bleed valve.

We can't seem to find any pressure going through the pipes.
Its like there is something blocked.

My dad is a qualified mechanic and finds it weird. He is suspecting that the master cylinder should be changed.

Thought I might ask anyone here who might have had similar or experienced similar problems

Disconnect the rear compensator and set the lever (sorry can never remember which way), so that the compensator restricts as little as possible, then retry. Mark the position of the bolt, etc before so you can easily reset it. If its still blocked, then look for kinked pipes, etc.

invest in a pressure bleeder, ?20 or so from halfords, worth its wieght in gold!!! esp if you have had the system apart. I bleed mine with the tyre pressure set to 40psi as I find this helps remove stubbon air
