Hi guys,i`ve had my mk 1 cabby now for about 18 months and love it to bits but  the suspension on the front is so firm,over sleeping policemen it really jolts the whole car,i`ve changed the shox but was wondering if any one knew of a different spring set up that would make this better, the springs fitted at the moment look stock

Sorry mate, I think that's just part of owning a Mk1 Cab. Are yoy sure it hasn't been dropped slightly too?

Mine Cab's has gone down 30mm and I find it okay over bumps provided I don't go at them as if I'm in my S60. Only thing I can suggest is check your bushes, they may be worn.

when you changed the front shoks did you fill the inserts with oil, if you dont then it will bang on every bump  :x

thanks for the info guys,i`ve spoken to another local cabby owner and he says his is really solid on the front,as you say must just be a quirk of t :D he car……same as having muscles on your muscles from no power steering…….would`nt part with it for anything

Check your front suspension top mounts…..

see here for a previous thread

…and ensure that the front camber is set correctly, then get the tracking spot on……our Clipper was hard as a rock and steered like a tank till we had the above done…..
