When were they last serviced and what tasks did you do in the servicing of them?

Sounds like a new MC has been fitted, which means new/fresh brake fluid too, but there's no mention of the rear brakes being inspected. Since the brakes didn't work on ONE wheel though, it doesn't sound like a master cylinder issue to start with, more like a seized brake compensator or air trapped in the fluid. if TWO (diagonally opposite) brakes were not operating, then this would definitely point to some kind of master cylinder (or bleeding) issue.

So, now that the MC is replaced, its still possible its a seized rear compensator or poor condition/dusty/dirty brake drums and shoes. Good workshop technique should have detected that the brake compensator was seized if that was the case, during the bleeding, but then they also didn't look at the rears?

So there's 2 places to look at initially.
