Best performancs clutch on standard GTI box

Hi,

Does anyone know of a good performance clutch KIT for my standard mk1 campaign 1983?

Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks

Use a 16V pressure plate with your 8V friction disc, and you'll be ok. Don't waste your money on overpriced aftermarket stuff which is no better.

I don't think you can buy the pressure plate and friction disc separately, car parts suppliers tend to only supply a 'clutch kit' which includes all the bits. So you'd need to mix and match, or put out a wanted ad, etc.

I bought a Techniclutch Kit off ebay. The guy was really good on the phone (called John I think) and he gave me an 8v clutch and a 16v pressure plate for the same price.

Have a look on ebay or google

in fact…

Just phoned them.  They got their techy guy to call me back.  Ordered the 8v clutch and 16v pressure plate.  Should be delivered within 48hours and they have mechanics who can talk you through the install if you hit problems…. so far… a great releif and brilliant customer service!!  Thanks for the pointer R11ysf.

paul_c thanks for letting me know there are alternatives out there buddy.

Roll on the delivery/installation day!!!

Got the pressure plate and friction disk yesterday morning.

So far the company has been extremely helpfull and the product looks good, came with protective oiled (I think) paper.

I'll let everyone know how it actually performs next month when I've got it fitted.

Cheers

I thought exactly the same, the guy one the phone was brilliant and the technical staff sounded very knowledgeable.

Maybe we should try and organise a club discount with them???  Mods???
