unable to get balljoint in to clamp
Hi
Apologises if this has been answered a million times have done a search but unable to find the answer…..
Have just replaced a rusty wishbone and have fitted a new balljoint its the same size as the old one 17mm. I am guessing the clamp bolt goes in first as it does not push through when the balljoint is fitted and if i hammer it in it will destroy the thread, so have pushed the bolt in but have tried for about 30 mins to push the balljoint in fully but it won`t go past the bolt. I`ve tried opening the clamp with a chisel. The haynes manual says " refit the balljoint" thats it .cf_emoticons__BangHead: Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers

The ball joint goes in first, i support it with a jack which also pushs it fully home and holds it while the bolt is fitted.

shine a torch thru the bolt hole, and tap it till the slot in the ball joint is lined up with the hole, then fit the bolt
