anyone tried one of these?

looking for a short shift kit for my mk1 and found this on ebay and wondered if anyone had tried one of these or had any advice on them, or if there are better ones to go for?

the wieghted rods are quite good. short shift kits are not always a good thing. you can end up changing gear faster than the box can.

is it worth getting the weighted rod on it's own then?

i'd say yes.

have a look at the linkage overhaul/repair kits. i'd go for one of those and a wieghted rod. you can wieght the rod yourself.

will do cheers. Not sure will the kit fit both mk1 and mk2 gearbox linkages cos im running a 9a engine with a mk2 gti gearbox in mine?
