anyone got expierence with nissan micras

hi

ive just changed the gearbox on a friends nissan micra its an ncvt (auto) everything is sweet except it wont change out of first gear     it drives fine, all the levels are ok and when driveing it hard the cvt light comes on???

any suggestions would be great

cvt stands for continually variable transmission,as far as i know they dont change gears like a normal auto,they just rev and go,like the old daf belt drive cars (daffodil daf44 daf55 etc)

What oil did you put into it? The light could come on if its overheating.

You mean nissans are that advanced now.      

I would say you have miss connected some wiring ? It must need some senders / sensors to tell it how fast it's going and when to change . Flywheel ?

hmmmmmmnnn its now workin????    had abit of a poke around and took it for a run and hey presto it changes the only problem is the electro magnetic isnt lookin to healthy  :evil: hopefully it will bed itself in

hmmmnnn the joys of buyin spares from scrappys  :?

the reason i changed it was it was making some horrible noises  8O  sounded like one of the diffbearings had gone  :dontknow:
