adjusting raceland coilovers mk1 golf?

hi everyone i bought my mk1 golf with new raceland coilovers fitted! my passenger side one is lower and hits the arch when going over bumps or passengers in the back!
does anyone know how to adjust them and tighten them?

I'd imagine like any other coilover. Somewhere on the bottom spring mount is a tiny allen key fitment screw, loosen this then use a C spanner to turn it one way or another to lower/raise the car, then tighten the screw again. They tend to come in standard sizes, so the C spanners are not specific to each brand of coilover.

Remember after each time adjusting ride height, that camber, tracking and brake balance (if you have a load compensating valve) need checking/adjusting too.

you may need 2 c spanners, if they have been tightened up correctly.

First off you need to measure the height of the drivers side, usually from a point on the wheelarch to the centre of the wheel. Make a note of this and then do t same for passenger side. work out the difference and then reset the passenger side by this amount.

To do this you'll need to loosen the bottom locking plate and move away from the spring plate. find a spot and measure the distance from there to the spring plate. Add the difference between the two sides to this and then wind up spring plate using the C spanner to this measurement and lock up the bottom plate firm against the spring plate.

Best to make sure the car has both  front wheels off the ground when doing this and the suspension is not under any load!

I doubt raceland coils will have any grubscrews as paul mentioned as they are lower end coils and they tend not to have them.

Prob best to check the rears to as it sounds like someone with no real idea has set the ride height. I'd run it a bit to see how it setttles and then have the geo done once your happy with the height of the car.

Good luck dude!
