adjusting bite point

hey guys, how do you adjust the brake pedal as it works fine but only seems to bite on the last 1/2" of the travel which can become quite worrying at best  :?

Before adjusting linkage i would make sure any drum brakes are properly adjusted and maybe bleed system depending when last done.
