8" by 16" wheels!

Erm, do I have any chance of getting 8" by 16" (Porsche) wheels on my golf?

They've got 205 x 40 x 16 tyres on and have H&R spacers.

IIRC they are 52 or 55 offset so a total 20mm spacing (think the adapters may give this) will get it to about right for a golf, just need to know if I've got a chance in hell of getting them under the arches.

You will need to get the arches rolled or else they will rub going over bumps / with a load in the back especially if you are going to lower the car. I'm on 15's and they rub at the rear with only 40mm lowering.

Yup, I've emailed the seller about going to look at them and might put up a cash offer to try get them while I'm there.

Well, I'm off to see the wheels tomorrow night, gonna buy them if I can get a good price.

Not really fond of BBS wheels myself, put them up in the for sale section with photos and someone will probably bite your hand off :roll:

and what happened with the porsche wheels then last night ?

I went to see the bloke and a transaction was completed meaning they are now in my conservatory waiting to go on the golf.

Unfortunately it may need some work on the electrics so they might not go on for a little while yet. :cry:
