1983 Golf GL. 1.5L carb'd with 5 spd. what size clutch &

i need to know the size of the clutch and pressure plate.. is it 190, 200, or 210 mm??

this is a german imported vehicle, we didn't have them with this spec here in the USA so it's hard for me to tell some things, and i don't want to drop the trans to measure it and be down for the count.

if i can't figure it out i may just upgrade everything to the 210mm and put in a 210mm lightened and balanced flywheel, but i'd rather use the stock size and re-use the flywheel.

Pretty sure for petrols:

190mm
All 1.5, 1.6 carb engines

200mm
1.6 GTI

210mm
1.8 GTI

diesels, and later 1.8 cabbies, are a bit different.

ok thank you.. i was thinking it was 190mm as well because most of the parts are the same as a 1984 1.7L gas jetta that we had here stateside.

i'm hoping i can re-use my flywheel since i don't really want to rack up the extra cost of a brand new one i don't really need
