18" on the mk1

Tried to see how it would look like with 18"-ers on the mk1. Set up is 18x7,5 and tires are 225/40-18. And yes they do not fit even with the rear axle in place. They are 112/5 and usually sits on the Audi.

Although it would probably be possible with some work on the arches (well correct bolt-pattern and perhaps 215/35-18 instead)

:D

Luckily is does not suit the MK1 ,
i think 15" max are the norm that suit the car leave the 18" for the Saxo brigade

Too large brakes ;)?? Naahhh it was just a test that got caught on a picture :D.

The personal choice will be 15" or 16" rim, and the dream rim is the BBS RS… although rare and usually quite expensive.

Now a set of BBS RS 15" have been purchased :D :D. Got them for a bargain 1500 SEK, roughly about 110 quid.

Not in top condition, but after removing the clear coat on the outer rim and polish it like crazy the will be in top nick :)

Not decided if I will go for 195/45 roadtires or smallest possible tracktires (only found 205/50 and one 195/50). Plesant problems though :D

one way to fill the arch!

would look like a roller skate though and I'd hate to think what the handling would be like

non-existant I expect!

BIG NO NO for Mk1's!!
