15" tyre choices

I've just put my original 15" Le castelettes alloys 185/55/15's back on my Rivage, but the problem now is that  I like the 40 profile I had on my Porsche Design 90's.

I've had a quick search on the Internet but the closest I can find is 195/45/15. I'm just wondering what different sizes people are running on their 15's?

185/55/15 tyre profile = 102 mm Le Castelettes
195/45/15 tyre profile = 88 mm
195/40/16 tyre profile = 78 mm Porsche Design 90's

Ok then, I've done a little more thinking. The Le castelette tyres are only 185mm wide, so I understand stretching a thinner tyre to fit, but surely putting a wider tyre on is just ridiculous.

Does any one know where to get 40 profile 15" tyres from?

The best you'll get are bridgestone 165/50/15. I ran them on my G60 steels. Nice sidewall profile and stretch.

Other than that there are 185/45/15's available, but they'd be too wide for your rims given your desired look.

Have a look on wheel-whores.com, they have some really usefull picture galleries there dude.  8)

Projekt Frustration :

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!

Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

No worries mate. I had a nightmare when trying to get tyres for my zender wheels.

I got my bridgestones from kwikfit of all places, had to order them, but still got them on the offer running at the time. if not, then you may get them from mytyres.co.uk or com, can't remember which!

Hi i can't help you with your dilemma, but you have answered mine as I was deliberating what tyres to put on my 15" wheels to best suit the car, looks like I will be staying safe and standard (boring) 185/55/15
