1.8t 6speed to an ABF?

Basically I'm looking to put a 6 speed box in my mk1, I going to use the box of a 1.8t, what requirements or changes need to be done to fit it? Eg 1.8t shafts fit straight on? Original flywheel ect ok to use?

I think you're on your own with that one, don't even know if the bellhousing lines up……

It lines up and bolts on but the shafts need to be shortened and the 02M weighs about the same as a whole Mk1!

covers the conversion using the newer golf 02s box which is basically an 02a/j with an extra gear, so almost direct fit! no speedo hole unfortunatly, but i believe you can swap the 02a/j housing over to get this back
