1.3 gearbox

looking to change my gearbox on my 1.3 golf to a 5 speed think i need to be looking for a polo mk2/3 gearbox if im right in saying just wondering if anyone could tell me for defo and wat code that im looking for? Thanks :mrgreen:

8P is a good one, but anythign mk2/3 golf and polo which is 5 speed will do. just remember you need to make a bracket for it, usign half a polo bracket welded to half a mk1 bracket

Well you said mk2/3 so i thought you meant it would only wrk with these types.

i meant 5 speed boxes from either of these cars will work. you wont find a mk1 5 speed 1.0-1.3 box because they never had one as standard
