New meet for Doncaster/South Yorkshire area??????

Im considering starting up a new Dub meet for Donny & surrounding areas of south yorkshire (Depending on the response I get). Anyone interested? Would involve regular meets and show convoys and discounted parts/servicing/repairs etc! Proper job! Look forward to any feedback!  :pray:

id defo be up for that, live jus past grimsby from donny, but wud make the trip, know a few with mks1 localy too

Why  :dontknow: you can get all that on here and more by becoming a member or for free by just using the site .

A local meet some time would be great , but lets use the facilities we have here and post a meet on the "Regional meets section"

aye count us in, in sunny maltby so not to far off, pub meet would be nice

Im only in Hull, so id drop down for a meet thers about another 4 or 5 lads in Hull with mk1's,

 but i agree with chudd it should only really be a meet cos we do have everything we need already in this club?

Do you mean a 'club' or a regional meet?

Up to you chaps of course, but you're more than welcome to have a regional page on this site if you're happy to remain part of the 'Mk1 Golf Owners' Club', rather than go to the time and trouble of setting up your own club.

Bare in mind this site gets 13,000-17,000 visits per day, which is a lot of traffic which can be routed to a regional page. It takes a lot of time and effort to build that kind of profile on the 'net.

Hmmmm  :?  some good points there. Good idea to have like a monthly pub meet or something. Could vary it and have one in Donny, Hull, Sheffield etc…..

Quite a few of us have evolved regional meets on weekends or evenings:

North West
South West
Berkshire

A North East would be a great addition  

we would defo be intrested in that just got to get car back on the road got something dont know wat wrong with the wipers stupid things keeps poping fuses, really cant figure it out, plus trying to restore it. we in south killingholme so not far. any one know any good auto electritions.

There is a monthly yorkshire meet we are havin one on the 26th this month get your selfs along its posted on here.

there's a YVC club meet (simon mcnamara of immaculate gti mk1 status and organiser of elsecar mega meet) in Donny, just of A1 at Marr - usually twice a month, i'll get him to post details, about 3 mk1's usually there, the more th merrier really. just a pub g2g for a laugh. i ain't been for a while but the mk1's back as of next month so i will be.

iam up for that i live in donny so would be great to have a proper local little meet.

Would be good to know dates of the meet at marr ive heard about it but never got round to finding the dates.

I did have south York's with the Derbyshire region under the command of Mk1jim with those in the north of the region perhaps visiting some of the Yorkshire meets where littlerolf (kim) is OC.

remember folks sometimes you have to travel a little to get to a meet they are not always going to be down the bottom of your street :wink:

there is a meet tonight in doncaster its not for mk1's but VW's in general. Its at Cheswolds pub next to the Vue cinema 7pm

The organisers are Donny Dubbers

I didn't even look at original post date but as this thread has taken a new lease of life let's run with it

YVC (general VAG's not just MK1's although let's resurrect some original metal) meeting is tonight - short notice I know but it's first time in ages i've been able to go and just thought about it so see you there folks

YVC meets are usually second monday and last tuesday of the month I think

location - the Mill pub near scawsby - Junc 37 A1(m), head down A635 to donny and it's on the right after about 1/4mile, or if you come from donny up to A1(m) at j37, it's on left about 1/4mile from teh roundabout, if you go past it just do a quick lap around the motorway roundabout and come back - simple
