Midlands Festival of Transport, Easter Sunday 23rd March

Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday 23rd & 24th March is the date of the  21st Midlands Festival of Transport held in the grounds of Weston Park situated besides the A5 on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border. It comprises classic cars, trucks, display teams and a huge autojumble and traders.

As well as the vintage cars, there are great turnouts of Jaguar clubs, Escorts, Granada, Triumph, Audi, split screen camper clubs,Vauxhalls, BMW, Mercs, Chrysler, Talbots,Austin, Rover etc, etc…..but where are the mk1 Glfs  :dontknow: ??

I'm looking to see what interest we have from other members to hold a mk1 owners stand at this show on just the one day Sunday 23rd March , if there are enough to make a stand, I'll talk to the organisers and book it.

A very good show this as already said you get loads of different cars and very good stalls too. Last time I was there the E-type Jags out numbered any other car so it seemed!

It'd be good to get at least 5 I think, mind you, at last years show I came across 2 mk1 cabbys showing on their own, but couldn't find the owners   .

Rolly   , I was beginning to think you'd sold the cabby.  I'll speak to organisers  and see when the last date is for booking.

I've asked the organisers on the latest date for booking this show and due to high demand they are looking at all bookings being in for the end of February.  I need names by the end of this week for who is genuinely interested, really we need at least 5 to make any impact, so names please

Are you interested in a joint club stand between Mk1 Golf OC and The Scirocco Register? I can give you a list of names of people from the Scirocco side of things. It makes sense to combine, once you've seen the list…..

Right I've got the forms, I need the registration/make/year of manufacture and name and address for everyone who's coming on the mk1 owners stand.

So pm your details to me and I'll fill the forms in as I need to get these sent off by the end of next week.

We are only doing the stand on the Sunday 23rd March, it's on the Easter Bank holiday weekend, so you'll still have your Saturday and Monday free to cut the lawn/ fix the fence or whatever else it takes to keep the other half happy  :mrgreen: .
