Lancaster/Blackpool meets?

Hi everyone.
I'd like to find out more about mk1's and I think the best way to do this would be to go to a local meet. Does anyone know of any around lancaster?
Cheers,
Tom

There's a post on here advertising the Volksdevil meet at Leighton Hall fairly soon - have a search - should be on here somewhere.
You in Lancaster then? What car do I look out for?

I'm at uni in Lancaster yeah. Look for a dark purple mk3 with toy car size wheels, 1000000 inches of ground clearance and lots of body roll when I go round even the slightest corners :(
You local then? A mechanic in the little town next to uni (can never remember the name but there's a pub there called the plough inn that does great food thats also enough to feed you for a week!) told me there was someone who had just bought a mk1 in the area.
I'll make sure to flash my lights or something if I see a mk1 around the area!

Hi, welcome to Lancaster! Galgate is where you're thinking of…
There  a few Mk1's in the area - mine's a Lhasa tintop GTI Y reg - i'll keep a look out for you. There's a very similar Lhasa GTI at Heysham, and a very tasty customised GTI in Morecambe in dark metallic blue. Also one or two caddys around town and a red GL (?) last week in Lancaster. Guess I maybe should have sent this as a pm…not so interesting for the rest of the members?

I'll definetley keep an eye out! Always loved lhasa (if I'm thinking of the right colour - darkish green?). If I see you in a carpark somewhere i'll be sure to come say hello. When's the next meet round our way?

Alright Tom

I'm the guy with the Mk1 who know's David France (Motor Services) at Galgate - great guys there! I just bobbed in a couple of weeks back to show him my latest aqcuisition.
Yeah a meet up this neck of the woods would be nice - see a few about round here from time to time (or maybe it's just Oldfart I see a lot of!)

Anyway welcome mate - hope to see you soon,

Cheers Mark

Hey! Are you the Lhasa GTI from Heysham with BBS wheels ? (how nerdy do I sound?)
Were you on the prom in Morecambe tonight -passed a MK1 with twin lights going the other way, and there ain't many around here!

Lhasa GTI from Heysham with BBS wheels?! In my dreams! I've seen him around too (maybe I'm getting him confused with you) I've tried to catch his attention but he always looks like he's on a mission.
My current ride is a 1981 W plate, silver cabby, black roof. I was actually out round heysham in it yesterday afternoon- I'd have gone nuts if I'd have seen 2 lhasa gti's!!!

I'll keep a look out for you!

Cheers Mark

Leighton Hall meet is 20th April, so I'll try to get along…anyone else?

Not sure if I'm at uni on the 20th. If I am would it be ok to meet up and follow you there? How far is it from Lancaster?
With regard to David France (is he the boss?), I went there to get an MOT (needed it quick as it had run out) and he managed to fit me in about 10 minutes after I got there. Couldn't have been more helpful to me and so I've recommended him (well, the garage) to everyone here at uni.
Take it easy lads and I hope to see you around town sometime soon.

Yeah, Leighton Hall is about three miles north of Carnforth, which is five miles north of Lancaster. Used to be Signposted - not sure if it still is?

Just found out I will be here for the 20th. I haven't seen any signs for Carnforth so I'd need to follow someone if thats ok (used to have satnav but it broke on me  :( )
