Essex/East Anglia

Evening all!

My car is awaiting "just" an engine change and the interior but I'm gettinga itch and hope it's on the road by April!  I've been to a few local VW meets but I'm quickly realising the most active groups are for Air Cooled cars/buses.  So Essex/Suffolk/Herts… anyone??  Keep me sane!!

we used to meetup @the 8ball dinerbut thats now closed and turn outs were never any good usually me and a mini 1275gt :-(. kinda lost interest but if ppl wanna meet il be up for it if im free.

I know there is an essex vw meet that is advertised on Facebook that meet once a month at a little chef. Not been yet, but it might be a good place to start?
Engine is all set to go in the cab' on Monday so it's hopefully just a matter of time for me now!

would be interested in a meet once a month maybe ? maybe combine it with another meet/club until numbers rise ?  I noticed there's no mention of the south East in the region list  

There's a herts and beds area but no Essex. I live in Essex so have to go across to herts for my nearest MK1 meet.

Any suggestions for a meet that we could "piggy back" off of then?  Essex VW meets (advertised on Face book) appear to meet on the first thursday of the month on the A12, the last one being at "The Grange" Pub, Boreham.

I went to the last Essex vw meet , friendly bunch with some lovely air cooled vdubs.
I'm up 4 meeting there , a lot of the Essex lot have their dinner there as well.

Once my MK1 is on the road and up and running I'll be up for coming along to an Essex meet.

Perhaps we can sort something for the summer for MK1's

I used to go to the east coast dubs meets every other Monday in Colchester, few years ago though, not sure if they are still going or not!

i'm in Ipswich so could go to meets around this area

Im also in ipswich and my mk1 is also now on the road so am up for some meets
