Beds, Bucks, Oxon and Northants

Calling all MK 1 Owners in Beds, Bucks, Oxfordshire and Northants

We're trying to set up a regular meet where we can kick tyres, talk Golfs and have a bite to eat!

A few of us have already been meeting and have worked out that Bicester is a fairly central location (30 mins from MK, Northampton, Witney, Banbury, Oxford, Aylesbury, Didcot etc,etc,etc) - well at least to start with - I'd rather go somewhere else!

We are planning meets on the following dates at the Nightingale Pub in Bicester (directions to follow later)

20 April 2008

Normally around 2pm.

Sundays, always good days for a meet up.. the missus will no doubt want to go to the outlet village, so 2 birds, 1 stone…
Not promising yet, but will try to make at least 1 meet

I will be upi for that just have to get the dates sussed out if I am home or not.

Feb is out as I'm in Amsterdam, but any of the others seem ok at the moment…

This is perfect for me as I am only down the road in Aylesbury. I would not be at the Feb meet but I could make the March meet and would definitely be at the April meet…

Although I have replaced the indicators with standard yellow lenses now…

She has no tax at the moment and the MOT runs out this month as she has been in my garage since October… I will have her back out in March though, hopefully the weather will be good then!

Do you know anybody else with a mark one in Aylesbury??  I know there is a white cabby on a drive off a roundabout on the A41 heading out of Aylesbury - just after the Macdonalds / Pizza Hut retail park heading towards Bicester.

The cab looks really clean, nice!

I don't personally know any of the owners of other Mk1's in Aylesbury which is a shame. There are a few cabbies that I have seen floating around as well as a white tin top from years ago which had a 16valve. I have had mine for two years now and have done loads to her, always wanted one when I was younger, now at 32 I have one. There doesn't seem to be to many these days but hopefully they will see this so that we can all meet up.

Hopefully there will be a few cars at the meet in March or April, I am looking forward to taking my car out after 4 months of sitting in the garage. Would be really good to meet others near by too.

At the moment there are three stalwharts at the meetings but there has been a bit more response to renaming the thread…with a bit of luck the numbers will increase if we keep at it.  

By the way at 32 you will not be the oldest!  That'll be me at 36!

Just noticed this is the same day as the northerners are organising there big cruise..
I'm tempted for that as its my old stomping ground..
so now i'm torn between the 2…
