Any one in the North East UK?

Hi folks,

Is anyone located in the Countr Durham/Tyne and Wear/Northumberland area?

If so, please pop a reply on here so I can build up a list.

I run a learndirect centre in North Durham and have a car park, room and facilities.  Perhaps if there is enough interest we could get a regular meet started?

I've got close links with the chairman of the Tynemouth and District Motorsport Club too so if we want to run any competative events, we can be covered by all those MSA laws and the like.  Weve run various autotests before and navigational road rallies.

If there aren't many people we could perhaps join up with the dwindling Lancia Motor Club in the area (of which I am also quite involved with).  We could perhaps hold some kind of a Golf vs. Deltas event over the summer?

Anyway, if you are in the area, even if you aren't interested by anything I have said.  Put a reply below and if we get a few names I'll send some messages round to people.

Kind Regards,

Go for it folks!

Looks like the Kent/Sussex region has some stiff competition!

Not too far away - Matt is down that way too.  If you wanted to come up together you could probably share fuel costs.

If there are pleanty people in yorkshire then there would porbably be scope for a "south" North East seciton…

A late response but count me in too Steve. I have another pal whose Mk1 is nearing it's restoration completion so that'll be a white and black one to swell the numbers. Longer term we may have another new kid on the block with a mars red one…..a ?75 ebay 'project' purchase which may turn a wheel in the future if he doesn't decide to scrap it. It's a short blast up the A19 for us from Stockton, Saltburn & Redcar.
Heh, I could also bring along that Rabbit Inection badge

nice one steve! a regular meet sounds good, i live in 8 miles from durham so i would have a look if thats ok, i need some dubers from the NE & Durham area to help me with this idea:

North East Event Idea:
i want to talk to some dubers from our area to maybe organize a meet/show once a year at this venue:

PowCamp.com is for sale | HugeDomains
PowCamp.com is for sale | HugeDomains

it has bike and truck shows on there so i dont think they will have a problem with cars. i sort out dance music events regularly in my area and we were considering an out door event for early summer but it would be class if we held its as a meet/show as well. i work with a lot of rock bands too so we could have two music marquees then i reckon a couple of food & drink vans, toilets, maybe get in touch with a few local car specialist shops to set up some stalls, theres loads of space to park and the P.O.W Camp its self is quite cool. i reckon it could make a cracking little event if its advertised well. the only problem is i would need some help getting it organized and with advertising. im not sure if you can get funding for events like this so it would be good to get a rough figure of how much the venue, marquees and facilities would cost. its just an idea at the moment but with a little help and planning it could well be possible.
let me know what you think :dontknow:
cheers
