A Manchester area meet?

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes but …..
Does anyone on here organise a meet in the Manchester area?
If not would Manchester based members be interested in setting up a regular meet and cruise?
I know there is the Preston Brook meet but that can be quite a run for some of us Manchester based ppl as are all the other regular meets I have seen.
Please take part in my poll to let me know what ppl think and which option they think is best, north, south, east, west, central or rotating round city.

I'll be interested in seeing how this goes. If you get a lot of interest, there's no point running Preston Brook AND Manchester meets - so I'd just go with whichever location is more popular.

so y is there no north east secion?

because you could get to any of them easily north or east. also south and west are easy with the M60

Maybe everyone's happy enough with Preston Brook for now? I know its only been 2 meets, but it might be worth giving it a go and seeing if it settles. One of the problems last year was that we'd attact people, but they'd attend 1 meet, not to return. At least we're starting to see returning faces again, between the (2) meets.

I'm in Stockport and I love the drive over the Preston Brook especially last time in convoy with Stu trying to wind a Supra up……

Why not just organise a manchester based people convoy over to Preston Brook say meet an hour beforehand and then all shoot over there terrorising, I mean playing nicely with the Sunday drivers.

One reason is because it isn't on a sunday at the moment (thursdays now)
second reason if it was on a sunday I have my eldest daughter at weekends and would need to have her back before tea time preston brook is just a bit to far for comfort on that one

Just for interest my original idea was to arrange a meeting point and time for a weekend day and have a prearranged destination and route for a cruise to  somewhere that ppl could have a picnic or buy some food etc, have a good chin wag then at whatever time ppl want they go home
eg everyone could meet up at the trafford centre car park and cruise in convoy to Rivington Barn

If we could work it out, I don't mind sticking to Sundays. The problem is, there's so many shows these days that it always seems to end up clashing with something or other.

Anywhere in manchester, does bother me, i am in salford.
i used to goto the preston brook meets everyweek, but clocked up to much mileage, want to leave that only for shows.
Trafford centre sounds a good un, anywhere in manchester i'm happy with

evening meets are no good, you dnt have time
wknds are better i know that its show time but thought i would say that

as long as ppl said which shows they are going to attend then the show scene shouldn't be a problem

Its only really All Types which causes the problem. Next month, GTI Inters clashes (16-17th June) but I suspect the numbers from NW going, are not significant enough to cause issues (we had NWM18 on the same day as GTI Spring Festival and it was reasonably well attended). I think July's okay (GTI Festival is on 8th) and August (Gaydon is 11-12th). Edition 38 is on 31st Aug - 2nd Sept.
