Destined for Daily Duties
Iv seen this sitting in a local driveway for years and put a few notes through the door in this time.
Last Friday I was driving past and seen the owner for the first time ever so I checked the abs on the van and stopped for a chat. The next thing I new it was mine😊
So it was picked up within the hour and straight to the paint shop for the professional verdict.

I went in on Saturday morning to this
Iv been going in between and after work most days to lend a hand and things seem to be moving fast.
It was a non runner but a new fuel pump, relay, spark plugs, alarm removal, fresh petrol and some cleaned up ecu connections soon sorted that.
Next thing we new

So I was put on to laddie duties and started fixing the rear spoiler as they split round the mould lines. Some fibre glass work…
Sorting out the damage in the tailgate due to jammed stones.
Fuel pump
The rear tubs are a common prob on these, only the metal skin on top is affected here…
Truckman roof getting a polish
Wheel
Wheel trial
So yesterday was spent fitting the new left hand wing and removing the moulding from the original! Not very easy as it is fibre glass and bonded on..

I wasn't sure what I was doing with this but since its actually quite solid and growing on me I'm going to be keeping it.
It has 79000 miles and is one of 600 made. Only 300 were right hand drives and made it to the uk.
It's the only skoda in this colour so that's going to remain the same… It has a VW 1.6 75bhp engine…
Oh and it was mine for £175

Wow great find and you've not hung about sorting it!
For a moment I thought it had morphed in to a MK1 Escort!

Is this the one where the back section of the cab pulls out to reveal two extra seats?

Yeah Hairy it's all happening pretty fast. It was ment to be just the wings but now it's getting a full paint. This wk should see it in primer and maybe even colour. It's being done in 2 pack again which makes me happy
Yeah the back pulls out and reveals another 2 quirky seats plus some wind in the hair
I'm currently trying to find out what coilovers i can fit with minimum effort/work but that's proving to be not so simple…

I actually bought one of these brand new from the dealership, unfortuantly I ordered a red one which they cancelled
They offered me a yellow one but I foolishly said no..

Today's progress seen the passenger rear strut plated then fibre glass skimmed…
Drivers side wing on
Drivers arch off the original wing
Tailgate painted
Bonnet done
Flatten and polish
Chuffed how quick it's goin as its going to be a daily, so it's jumped the queue on the Mk1. But I'm quite happy with that as I can use this everyday
