88 scirocco gt

Much to my girlfriends joy I picked this up last week. 1988 scirocco gt.
Does any one know what colour it is? The tag with the code on has gone missing and I Need to touch up some spots.

It had been stood for a while and the owneer couldnt get it going but with a clean of the spark plugs and a jump from the golf got it going!
Its been running like a dog but the more it gets used the more it appears to clear out. Has the 2e2 carb and that appears to be a turd to work with!

Passed its Mot with some new bulbs and a carb fiddle as the emissions was sky high.
I had planned to swap between this, the mk1 and the land rover but found out this morning that ill be loosing my workshop as my GF is coming to the end of her medical degree and has been placed in yorkshire so one or 2 cars is going to have to go!



 

Bit hard to tell from the picture, but I have a 1988 brochure which has a Rock Grey L9 colour listed.  The sample looks a little darker than in your picture, but not often very accurate.
The other colours similar -Saphire looks more like a silvery blue, and Pewter more of a brown-grey, so I may be right. Do you have the service book as sticker inside there as well as in boot?

Rock grey sound like it could be right! right, I rang VW and the service desk checked the chassis number but said it was L9L9 which is a bright green though I could of misheard her.
Unfortunately I dont have the service book.
