Build topic about my 83 golf C
Hello everyone !
I'm here to present to you the mighty green shoebox, sorry if the english isn't good i'm french A while back i bought for a good price this golf C 1.1 with a spun bearing
so i bought a 3.2 from a wrecked automatic a3, a clutch and a 02m gearbox from a local used stuf website and tought it would be kinda easy because there's plenty of swap kits available, big mistake i know
Of course my mk1 is a smallblock so i need to cut and weld a new engine side mount
And i bought the epytec swap kit with driveshaft for the 02m and vr6, i already know the front snub mount need to be modified, but with the 02m mount in place nothing lines up
I reached out to epytec about it and they send me the other mount they have on the website. Engine placement is more to the right wich is better but it still isn't right and i didn't even try to put the driveshaft in place…
so i'm stuck for now… i focused on the other stuff like wirring the Standalone ECU
i went for the ECUMaster emu black because i have worked with ecumaster's stuff before in other project. i still need to do the power delivery for the engine.
That's it for now, if someone as any idea for the engine mounts i would be very grateful thanks for reading

Well your right you can't, we, the people who does this stuff stay under the radar and live far away from big towns. To be honest theses modified cars don't go out the garage very often. And worst case you get a big ticket but they cant tale the car away as far as a know if your not taken doing wild stuff.
Well now, it's been a while since my last post, im sick i have cancer so between treatment and working on cars i didn't have the time, i don't want pitty i just wanted to justify 😁
So for the engine mounts i opted for the mk4 setup. I kept the rear stock lower mount of the mk1 with the epytec adapter but cut, welded and everything the mk4 mounts left and right.
I used the 02m driveshaft from epytec and the rear mount to center the engine welded everything and then made some custom pieces to have the engine as high as i can and level like I wanted.
Then big break time 😏 to fit them I had to put spacers so… not everyone will like it but i think its not that bad
Then we made the exhaust, i may have overdone it 🤣
Full stainless with a silencer and a glasspack to try to keep it down a bit, both tips are connected, it goes between the sparewheel and the bumper.
And the last thing we did was fit the Rad, we decided to make the top grille removable, ditch the stock hood latch and put some pined hood latch
Thats it for me 😁
