Thought I'd share this lil story of depression and a mk1 :)

I'll keep this as short as possible.

I got this golf with 58k on clock (now has 68k) , 2 owners from new and 12months MOT.
I bought it from a guy who I think may of been in some financial difficulty as it only cost me 500 quid.
Worrying I wouldn't even make it home the 3 hour drive I cruised at 45, waving and being flashed by many other campers/golfs and even one Porsche!

By the time I was home fell in love with the car and it became my daily, it's taken me all over the uk and never missed a beat.

Sadly, due to an injury and loss of earnings a year later I had to sell it. I'm Not ashamed to admit I actually cried as it drove away… First and only time my misses has seen my cry 👍🏻

After repeatedly texting the guy I sold it to, to buy it back I gave up… I didn't even have the money it was just hope.

To add to the misery my work sacked later sacked me due to my injury. And obviously Fell depressed. And to make it worse again, 4 days after bein sacked I had a text saying it was up for sale 👎🏻

Being the nice guy that he is he kept it for me to see if I could get some money together. Luckily, saved again by mother (not the first time) she lent me the money.

Since then it hasn't left my side and might be going to four festival in Belgium next month…

And, in August will be my sister in law to be, wedding car.

Yesterday I gave it the chrome bumpers and tombstones. Next month it's in the body shop 👍🏻
It's by no means a show car but it is the love of my life and I haven't been happier since having it back.

If you have managed to get through this soppy post, thanks for reading. And I hope you like it 👍🏻
