The first day I picked the car up I noticed it only had three gears due to the linkages being shot, so after a long trip to London and back we decided to start on it, a close friend who is a mechanic fitted a new linkage kit and adjusted a few bits and I managed to find all 5 years haha! Brilliant quick fix but that was the least of my worries……

So after using the car for a few days I realised that the oil was being burnt quick rapidly and was very concerned, at first I tried telling myself "it will just be oil stem seals" to play it down abit but it turned out to be a nightmare

So after abit of saving up I decided to go for it and get the engine sorted, I found a identical engine for a very cheap price, and replaced water pump, new rocker, new sump, pullys, oil pump. You get the idea, decided to give the engine a quick go over with some paint to brighten it back up also

After quite a few more problems with the engine back in, oil leaks and a few other problems, it's had new crank seals both sides, oil pump, small seals in various places on the engine and head 're skimming with new tappets the engine is pretty much sorted. Fingers crossed!! Time to get to the cosmetics

So I ditched the series 1 bumpers and added the original series 2 ones, got them retextured and I think it made the car look right again! The wheels and calipers was painted on a late night in the garage with a friend which I did like

After enjoying the car for a little while I found a set of bbs rx2 for a cheap price and decided to change it up slightly, I also found a heckblende which looks very 80s! So I took it to my first proper show with this car at Manchester, fitted UK

Mk1 running that sweet and problem free? Nahh back to it haha, noticed a very large fuel leak at work which we turned out to be a connection on the braided fuel lines, so a new fuel line was fitted, rear brakes shoes also was sorted due to being quite worn down, with my bad luck a stone smashed one of my headlights so a trip to a mk1 enthusiast local to me for a new set was made

After months of looking I finally found and saved up enough for a set of 15" Pirelli p slots, was over the moon, found a set of four centre caps also on eBay!! Couldn't fit 14" p slots due to having g60 brakes, but was absolutely over the moon with the difference in looks, I got them refurbished in shadow silver

The engine bay was letting the side down a little bit, blue samco hoses just didn't fit the look, look quite dirty, so me and a friend decided to spend a night spraying a few bits gloss black, changing the hoses to black, and adding new oil sensors, fuel pipe from filter, and some other bits and bobs

Hi mate, thank you! I've not properly fitted them yet, I've been advised to slide them under the window seal and also use some kind of adhesive/sealant underneath as they are known to fly off!
