Mk1 GTI Cabrio Rebuild

Hi everyone,

I've recently taken the plunge and bought a Mk1 GTI Cabrio (Jan 84) as a light restoration project. The idea being I'd like to take it back to the original factory build.

As you can see one of the previous owners decided to change the colour to a blue/turquoise colour. I want to take it back to the original Alpine White.

I purchased the factory build certificate and data sheet, which only tells me the following:

Alpine White Finish
Bright Sand Roof
GA Black & White Fabric Interior
A75 ???
M197 Battery
M409 Sport Front Seats
M451 Alloys

I'm trying to find the actual factory build, so:

1. Would it have been fitted with the 4-light front grill with red trim
2. Looking at the pictures, and as the original finish was white, are these the original bumpers (albeit white at the time)
3. The alloys. I've just bought a set Tarantula's, but looking at the spare (today) it's white. Was this standard, or has one of the previous owners added this to the car?

Your advise would be appreciated.
