new project

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on the site and can i say what a great site it is!!!!
I'm sure some of you will remember jamiegolf's Orange Mk1 cabrio 20vt. Well i'm the guy that bought it off him.
The car itself is fine (thanks jamie) but the paint isn't.
I was just after some info and advice on getting the old paint off the vehcile, without spending hours and hours and hours with a sander!!
I'm looking at sand blasting. I have been given a guestimate of about £600.
Has anyone else done this? if so how much did it cost?
If anyone has any other way of getting the paint off any info would be great. Altho not dipping as thats way to expensive and well out of my price range!!
Cheers,
Darren.

WOW!! I wasn't expecting to see this, yeah the paint was the only thing letting it down really, glad ur happy with it and I see your putting your own stamp on it! I wouldn't recommend sandblasting it cus it will destroy the filler and fiberglass on the wheel arches, sander is your friend here mate sorry!!

the best way i have found to remove the old paint is to mark up the old paint with a knive. Apply paint stripper and then cover with plastic. Leave it for about 30 mins. Then remove plastic and use a clean and strip disc to remove old paint. you can get a door on one side back to bare metal is about 30mins. i know im gonna need a sander at some point but the longer i can leave it the better. really not a fan of sanding!!!! lol!!!!
