MK1 cab - progress so far

Post

So then, I've had it a week or so.

Since having the carb (So says the guy I bought it off) it's never run right. After taking off, cleaning jets etc, I'm convinced it's either the wrong carb or something basically 'wrong' with the kit. So I've decided to start again and buy a new kit. It arrives tomorrow, and hopefully, it'll be on by the weekend.

In the process of getting it running, it has a clutch pedal and moves under its own steam. Bit confused as to why the previous owner said it needed a new clutch, so that's more to investigate.

I've also taken the roof off…..still found ZERO rot. SO pleased. Bought a mohair roof on a frame, along with a clipper kit.

Oh and I've got some golf BBS paint for the wheels!

Impressed by how good the quality is. Surprisingly good fun. And there is a simply incredible level of knowledge from the community.

Need to deep clean the interior too, any tips for products?

So.  MOT take 2 tomorrow.  Shouldn't really have failed the first one, running too rich on new carb (now sorted) and also it now has a rear fog light!

Very pleased how the wheels turned out.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

I definitely made the exhaust worse, and I told the tester I was worried about it (and wanted it fixed) - and I may have also faffed around with the rear brakes after the last advisory
