kamikaze cabby's latest ebay purchace..... hehehe

always trawling ebay for parts etc for my gti cabby when the other day I found this and just had to go and take a peek…












lol…. seemed like a good idea at the time so I worked a deal with the owner and bought her up…. hehehehe

and I must say I recon I got quite a good one there are some bodywork issues (dents no rust at all from what I can see!)
nice spec as it has power steering and also central locking, all in all quite chuffed as it didn't cost that much!
now the fun begins as it's been layed up for almost 4 years so needs a bit o' TLC

done a little more tinkering today…
fixed the bonnet release coz the cable had popped out, and started to strip out the interior for cleaning..







tomoz I am gunna strip out the carpet and jetwash it as it smells a bit and no matter how long I hovered it earlier there was still more sand and dirt in it!

Bet that hasn't got a yellow engine haha

nah…. funnily enough it ain't, instead some plonker has painted everything black so I am gunna have to sort that out as it looks shocking! hahaha
this one is just about double the mileage of ma gti at 140k but as it's a clipper it will be a bit cheaper to insure and at some point I may instal an lpg kit which will make it stoopid cheap to run!

lol it will be tidy, ya can't see all the dents in the pics, importantly tho no rot whatsoever!
bit like my blue gti cabby that aint got any rot either and only 69k on the clock! this one has done a few more than that as per previous post!

and in a bit better shape than I was expecting (after a little cleaning) the carpet was minging though I jetwashed it fro about two hours and the water coming off it was brown, after it had dried there was still sand etc coming out from the pile but it's soooo much better than it was! I recon i'll give it one last hoover before I put it back in, also while it's all out I spose I'd better run the cables for the stereo instal

recon after much deliberation my power steering set up may not be a dealer fit option…

front bumper off and the front wings look to be in not bad shape (you can see the position of the pas line which some bright spark thought it would be acceptable to pass across the outside of the front panel recon i'll be sorting that right out, that is if the pas all works o.k. after the new belt is fitted, if not it'll get a manual rack!

Nice mate, got the late interior in it like my K plate clipper, loved that interior and worth a few £

not really been upto much more… just cleaning and painting brackets etc…



engine bay area looking a little better with all the black paint removed, just need it steamed off now which I hoped to do today but it's raining again



also cleaned off under the front arch areas




would like to get the damper toobs off as well and get those painted up as they look kaka!
