this is my late dads car ,now my mums it will never be sold it is written into my mums will that it will be passed onto me .It has a TSR engine and a whole load of other things done to it over the last 20 years

That's a tidy looking Campaign model and a good story too. Did your father own this from new?

my mum also has a mk2 and a mk4 gti she only ever drives the mk4 and never above 50mph ! I think the mk1 and Mk2 only did about 200 miles combined last year they just sit in her alarmed garage .She always fully taxs and insures both .

Mk2 as well, nice one!

So what do you have?

I have a mk4 gti turbo jazz blue with all the options which I have owned for 12 years now also a seat Leon (sorry) My love is bicycle s I have a Lotus ( Boardman ) bike which the Lotus f1 team used on there display last year at Brands Hatch .plus quite a few more bikes. I used to have a Oak Green mk2 gti which to be honest was a bit of a dog .I brought it which my heart not my head
My late farther told me not to buy it .I wished I had listen to him

You've had the MK4 some years then, sounds like your family likes to hold on to cars - no bad thing when you've got good taste

my dad and me used to race alfa suds . We had a few race cars in our time .My dad always wanted a golf gti . I think the rust beat my dad in the end.Like my dad. we like to look after our things so when her retired a golf it had to be.First my mums a mk 2 8v dark blue which has had powers steering fitted slightly lower suspension and a performance exhaust .I think now it has done about 65000 miles .As my dad became more ill he spent less time on his cars except the mk1.He wanted to get my mum a r32 or a polo gti but she loves her mk2 and did not want to change .They used to belong to the GTI club and go to meetings but my dad never took the mk1 as he  was quite a private person and only let John bowls VW near it once TSR had done there magic  

I've never had an Alfasud but always loved the way they look, a rare beast now!

reading what is a genuine campaign mk 1 I have just checked and the number on the plate in the engine bay is wvwzzz1/zew053866 so I think it is one I had a quick look in the boot and the spare pirrelli wheel is brand new .

That's probably rare for the spare to be unused! I can't even remember if mine had a spare P-slot or not
