My new old blast from the past

Hi All,
Well i thought i would add my Clipper to the projects, all though i'm sure it wont come close to what some of you guys have done to yours!

As i have only had her a couple of weeks, i keep changing my mind as to what i want to do with it, but firstly it has to be used nearly everyday so it has to be reliable ( so far so good ), and secondly practical, which is why i ideally would like to get power steering fitted.

Apparently it had a respray 2 years ago, so it looks quite good, but the bonnet is an absolute mess, cracks all over and bubbling where the bonnet bra had been left on permanently, so will need that respraying.
Interior is ok'ish, my plan is to keep fairly original, but might keep the patterned fabric of the seats and the surronds upholstered in black leather.

Looks a lot better after a quick polish!

New black mohair roof is being fitted next Friday so cant wait for that.
Spent today sanding down rear window frame as it was quite eroded and gave it a few coats of hammerite.

Also does anyone know where i can get the plastic trim that goes above the side windows? mine has cracked and faded, so need new ones.

So quick update on Wolfy
Since having the car i have been trying to immerse myself in this website and try and learn as much about the car as possible, and see what other people are doing to theirs.
The first thing i noticed, is that most of you guys are WAY more knowledgeable than me LOL, but its early days and i am getting there. At the moment though, this leaves me with using other people to do most of the repairs needed, which has seriously dented the budget!  but the plan is to one day be able to do it all myself.
So i have had the new roof fitted which i absolutely love.
Have had the old immobiliser and alarm removed, and replaced with a new modern immobiliser.

I have been having issues with the carb / auto choke and there is a very loud blowing / whistling noise coming from somewhere near the carb. I purchased a carb rebuild kit and attempted to sort this last weekend. after a couple of hours i managed to get the carb off, and first replaced most of the pipes as there were 2 with holes in. i gave the carb a good clean and decided against rebuilding it, as i new without doubt that i would screw it up LOL!
So after speaking to a friend he advised replacing the Pierburg carb with a weber manual carb, as it is more efficient and should solve the issue i am having with the auto choke. Anyone agree / disagree with this approach??

I said at the start that the plan was to keep the car original, BUT i need the car to be my everyday work car, so it needs to be reliable, practical and also look good, as ultimately i replaced this with my very reliable work van which was basically a moving advert for my business. So the keeping it original idea has to go. i am going to keep it as an automatic, but may one day look into seeing if i can somehow get it modified, as the whole 3 gear thing is not great on motorways. Maybe there is a company out there that can modify the gearing to give it an extra gear or something!

I am going to change the carpet from grey to black, and get the side parts of the seats covered in black leather, and maybe get the grey part of the dash sprayed black or replaced. Apart from that it will stay the same, well, until i change my  mind again!
