After 5 years without an engine, got the blighter in today.
Lots of cussing and a bit of paint to touch up but it's in - last awkward job done now 😊

Yes wondered that, but no facility lift car to that height.
Lifted engine right up up and pushed car under it.
Went in ok to be honest - just fathoming the correct tilt.
Also I found that I needed to remove the rear central mounting bracket from under car as this was creating a problem locating the engine mount stud into the bracket. Can refit it separately now.

Bet that was twice as hard trying to use the crane on the stones!

I realised the gravel would seriously hinder the operation but I managed to get enough height on the engine lift to be able to push car under the engine and lower away. Once I sorted the correct tilt it went in pretty easily on the whole.
I removed the back engine mount as was a bit awkward with that on but can now bolt it back on it.
Relying on my son to tell me when we down enough was the serious worry !!! 😄
