Bit on the side
I'm Lucas, one of the crew members from Edition38 and wanted to document my build on somewhere I've lived for the last 12 months sourcing inspiration!
it all started 12 months a go when the wife and I decided we were going to start a family and I had the sudden realisation that toys would take a back seat so thought I better get in there first! I wanted something I could cruise to shows in but not take to seriously as I would have limited time to spend prepping with a child on the scene.
I had decided on a Mk1 as despite owning over 20 golfs of mk1-Mk7's I'd only had one Mk1 when And that was when I was 18 and didn't have funds to deal with millions of issues it had..so started looking! A few days later a Mk1 sprung up on a friend of a friends news feed, made some enquires and two days later was in the garage.
Its a bit of an interesting one….started as 83 GTI in Mars red but previous owner added a webasto roof, semi smooth bay, genuine swallowtail rear end and painted it old English white but then sold it on. I'm a few buyers later and bought the car with loads of parts to finish but the direction wasn't for me, so I've sold most parts and started again.
As I bought it…..
Lucas

Love the seats Lucas. The webasto roof will be awesome in the summer months! Tidy looking car mate. I may have missed it but what's happening engine wise?
Nice little diesel lump 😍
