I loved it like that and wonder why i ever changed anything on it. Other than the crashy suspension, the shoddy paintwork and someone reversed into my driver's door So i changed a few things, wheels, bonnet (lacquer peel). GTI arches, raised top mounts, chassis notch, mx5 leather seats. Excuse the bonnet straps, temporary measure as the bonnet kept popping up.
Some new wheels came up dirt cheap so snapped them up… BBS RS 15x7.5 and 15x9 face mounted. 9s wouldnt work on the back with how low the car was so narrowed the rear beam to make them fit.
That is the last time the car looked in its original colour and guise as surface rust and lacquer peel was setting in something heavy Off the car went to California's Paint and Body in Darwen for a makeover… And this happened
Lots of american westy parts were painstakingly sourced, i had the BBS faces machined properly to be safely facemounted as the previous owner hadnt had this done then resprayed in original bbs gold.
Seats were changed for some recaros out of a proton satria GTI and recovered in beige cloth
Then finally, air ride came up for sale really cheap so i snapped it up and got it fitted. Need to make the rear wheels a little thinner to go all the way down and raise the front turrets to lay wishbone mounts but for mow i'm happy.
Also have these which i need to get crack tested and have custom lips and barrels made up to 16" dare i say rare? Ronal Racing mesh…
Any comments welcome
