Doubt about my cabby

Post

This morning i was feeling really guilty and skeptical of whether i could take care of the cabriolet i bought.
I was thinking
"Doesn't it deserve to be stored in the nasty seasons?"
"Does it deserve to be a daily and take the every day abuse?"
"Does it deserve to be someones long term project?"
I was feeling terrible, i was beginning to doubt my purchase!!

I took the car to VW today to a chap that had helped me out with my mk2 golf and has built mk1s himself so i trusted him to give it a good look over. Some of it i was already aware of, like the oil leak, seat bushes, slight knocking, missing radiator bracket. The obvious things.
List of what he found -

Considering the MOT was in December and only had 1 advisory which were the CV boots i do suspect foul play on the previous owners part! Surely the brake flex hose would have been a fail???

Anyway, all the feelings of guilt and doubt had left me by the time i got the car home!
Majority of these things could have been avoided if the last owners just gave a little bit of time and love, old cars need general maintenance as we all know and accept and this kinda tells me they didn't bother.
Structurally it's sound so that's something i guess.
I'm not too disappointed with this because they're pretty standard things to sort and most of the parts are easy to grab.

RELIEF!
:DI hope you enjoy the way i post my topics because i love typing them can't you tell :DAnna
