have a mk1 caddy diesel constant clutch cable snaps

any suggestions guys…. have a mk 1 caddy diesel motor but to me the air intake box seems to be in the way of  a regular mk1's clutch cable pathway this causes me to go through 5-6 cables a year cause the positioning is disturbed by the airbox/air intake this causes friction and ends up snapping eventually.what to do……?:'(

Are you using the correct RHD Diesel cable or just anyold MK1 big block cable?
