82 Cabby - The Forgotten

Post

Bought this about 12 years ago with the intention of getting it back on the road, a child and various other things got in the way. Had plans for a g60, even had one ready to go in, but it was eventually sold. Just glad I kept the RSL Cults.

Anyway the good news is the floor seems relatively sound, just the spare wheel well has rot.

The lip where the hood attaches needs patching and I've got replacement wings already.

Will need to assess the engine bay once I've got the lump out, but the battery tray is rotten so I'll just put future battery in the boot, as well as the screen washer.

Wow… 12 years!!  Glad you've finally got time to work on it.  That looks like a hefty project but its gunna be well worth the effort.

Cheers!

Hopefully I can have a good crack at it this year and get a lot of the big jobs done. The aim is to have it ready for next spring, but we all know that will more than likely pass by and it'll still be of the road

Got a bit more time spent on it. More just cleaning rubbish up that had piled up around it over the years and, getting it up on axle stands in a better position so I can access it better.

This has already allowed me a better look at the car overall and I found some more bits of rot.

Will probably just put 2 new sills on, it's looking like 2 new inner wings and, a rear valance. Most of the other jobs will hopefully just be patched.

Bonus is it already has a rear disc conversion, allowing for more power up front in the future

Finally got a bit more time to do the bigger job of removing the engine, and it looks like it has had a bit of a leak. Surprisingly I haven't encountered one bolt that has been seized
