have now ended up with another mk1 golf, it's been local to me for over 10 years but had been sitting in a garage with a half finished 16v conversion for about 8 years, it was booked into my workshop for welding repairs and 16v conversion, however my customer couldn't afford to finish it and offered it to me for a fair price

Looks like a great start to a project
What's your plans with it?

Need to get the welding finished and the 16v running, I might sell it after that or possibly put the rest of it back together and sell it, thinking about painting it white aswell

Doing some prep for painting, feels good not to be welding for a change

Got a bit of spare time just now so getting a bit done on this, found out one of the pins from the brake bar was missing so I decided to machine a new one.
First pic shows the pin machined down to 8mm staring from 13mm hex bar, second pic shows finished pin, bit more interesting than welding and painting
Back to painting again now, doors bonnet and tailgate ready for paint

Good luck with the rest of the work. I'm sure it'll be a cracking car when you finish.

Coming on now, watching with interest!
I found that my KR is using a corsa b rad to clear the carbs, I am keen to get a fresh reflections one in there at some point though.

I'm going to use the k jet injection so standard rad will be fine for me
