Well here I go again! This time I'm going to see it through though,no more breaking mk's!
arrived today,bought it blind last night off Facebook,was only a few mile away from my house too!
its not pretty but it a good basis
its had a brand new front panel,wings and front inner wings
came with lots of spares/goodies,I'll try and upload some pics now

Going to start practising my welding next week,think I'll need it ha!
I've scrapped far to many,I've sorted a jig/spit,I'm already buying panels so it's just a case of making it a car again

You've never welded before!? That explains your optimism.
Rust is like an iceburg. You only see 30% of whats really there.
Don't waste your money and time with this. Without seeing anymore photos I know there's 100's of hours of work just to weld it up. Its just not a case of buying panels and sticking them on. There will be loads of patches that need making and they are what take the time or you get another shell with good panels in it and use that but then you may as well use the good shell in the first place!
There are far better shells out there that need less work.

My shell was worse, I wouldn't worry if your serious about it, I've had mine a fair few years though
Mines only 50% done and i have fabrication knowledge and am a welder by trade though.
Have a go at it, worst case you break it and get your money back, but atleast you tried against all the negativity.

I couldn't agree more with this! I've no where near the experience of Yomp on bodywork, but my resto was my first attempt at welding and I've spent many hours on it patching things - and re-doing things where I've not done them well.
My shell was much better than this one and I wouldn't touch yours with a barge pole knowing what I know now. As mentioned there will be so much hidden work - you've got rust and holes where I wouldn't expect to see them.
It's no criticism mate, just knowing what you're letting yourself in for

Its not negativity - its just the truth.
Its easy to egg people on on here or any forum and build threads look easy when you can just scroll through a few pictures and see a wreck get transformed into a car. What pics don't show is the time, effort and expense it takes.
He's got to be serious about it alright…….seriously mad!!

So all the ones with a little too much rust need scrapping? I disagree, and glad I'm doing mine from the state it is, yeah I've got time in it, time I enjoy doing it. I don't see the time spent a negative thing, once you see the progress and work achieved its worth it.
On a cheap shell like so, best of having a stab at it rather than just giving up at the first sight and writing it off, that's negative.

Seen worse and hes got nothing to loose, have crack at it and see how you get on, you might even like doing body work, if not what have you really lost if its cheap enough

I point blank refuse to give up and break another tin top,I've given up in the past but not this time,I know I'll get a huge amount of satisfaction from building this,ok I havnt welded properly before but hey there's a first time for everything!
Who knows I might end up being really good at it?
I'm in no rush,I've no deadline,it will be done when it's done, to be honest hearing people say I should scrap it just makes me want to get stuck in more and show them that someone with no welding experience can do it,I genuinely enjoy getting dirty and getting stuck in

Well fair play to you then. As long as you're going in to this eyes wide open then nowt wrong with what you're doing - and don't take it as criticism, we're just wanting to support you in knowing what you're getting in to!
I had never welded before starting my resto - I'm no pro by any means now but do get a lot of satisfaction from it and trying new things like lead loading too.
